🌿 Who We Are

At Solar Bioenergy, we are pioneers in the next generation of clean energy—driven by innovation, rooted in sustainability, and committed to real-world impact. Our mission is to deliver practical, scalable alternatives to fossil fuels by harnessing the power of offshore solar and marine bioenergy. We believe the future of energy should be clean, circular, and accessible—without requiring a complete overhaul of the systems we rely on today.

Our team brings together experts in renewable energy, marine biology, and sustainable engineering to create net-zero fuels that are not only environmentally responsible but also economically viable. From bio-methane and hydrogen to renewable diesel, petrol, jet, and marine fuels, we produce clean energy solutions that work with existing infrastructure—making the transition to a low-carbon future both achievable and affordable.

Established in 2023 by our Founder and CEO, Sean McNeill, we have been driven on achieving sustainable energy security with minimum use of land space. Land is a huge barrier to entry, so we focused on the engineering of the offshore floating solar and seaweed farm first of all which was completed in March 2025. Now, the team is focusing on phase 2 of deploying a solar and seaweed farm and connecting into its own bio-oil refinery in the UAE, where it makes sense to harness the consistent sun, heat and climate to grow the crops, generate the energy and produce the fuels.

But we’re more than just a fuel provider—we’re a partner in progress. We work hand-in-hand with clients to ensure cost certainty, supply reliability, and a shared commitment to ethical, sustainable energy. With Solar Bioenergy, you’re not just choosing a cleaner fuel—you’re choosing a better future.

🌐 Global Reach, Locally Optimised

At Solar Bioenergy, our production strategy is built around geographic intelligence and environmental efficiency. We are developing a network of strategically located facilities designed to maximise crop productivity, optimise energy generation, and ensure reliable global distribution.

🇦🇪 Abu Dhabi & Dubai, UAE – Primary Production Hub

Our first production facility is located in Abu Dhabi, a region renowned for its abundant year-round sunlight, high temperatures, and stable climate—ideal conditions for cultivating high-yield marine crops like seaweed and micro-algae. This site will serve as our primary production hub, powered by floating offshore solar farms and supported by a sales and distribution and finance office in Dubai. From here, we will efficiently serve markets across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, leveraging the UAE’s world-class logistics infrastructure and global trade connectivity.

🇬🇧 Humber Freeport Zone, UK – Gateway to Europe

Our second facility is under development in the Humber Freeport Zone near Immingham, one of the UK’s most important industrial and maritime corridors. This location offers direct access to the North Sea, enabling efficient distribution to the UK and European markets. As a Freeport, it also provides customs and tax advantages, accelerating innovation and reducing operational costs. The Humber site will focus on distribution and regional adaptation, ensuring our fuels meet the specific needs of European industries and transport networks.

🇨🇳 China – Expanding into Asia-Pacific

Within the next three years, we will establish our third production facility in China, tapping into the country’s rapidly growing demand for clean energy and its strong government support for renewables. With vast coastal regions and a robust manufacturing ecosystem, China offers an ideal environment for scaling production and serving the broader Asia-Pacific region.

🌎 Latin America – Sustainable Growth in the Global South

Our fourth facility will be located in Latin America, a region rich in sunlight, biodiversity, and coastal access. This site will support both local energy needs and international exports, particularly to North and South America. Latin America’s favourable climate and growing clean energy sector make it a natural fit for our marine bioenergy model.

🌞 Why These Locations Matter

Each of our sites is chosen not just for logistical advantage, but for environmental suitability. Warm climates and high solar irradiance allow us to maximise crop growth and solar energy production, reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Together, these four locations form a resilient, globally distributed network capable of delivering clean, renewable fuels to every corner of the world—sustainably, reliably, and at scale.

"We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it."

- Barack Obama, Former US President
